Breakfast with General Washington
at Herkimer Home State Historic Site
(Little Falls, NY)

You’re invited to have Breakfast with General Washington at Herkimer Home State Historic Site on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 9:30 am.  This fundraiser is a historic recreation of Washington’s breakfast with George Herkimer on August 1, 1783 as documented by Count Francesco dal Verme as they traveled on Washington’s northern tour.
Tickets are $ 10 per person for the Washington’s favorite breakfast of corncakes swimming in butter and honey and served with locally made sausage and maple syrup catered by That Little Place on Main of Little Falls. At 9:30 am, General Washington will greet his guests and invite them to dine at 10:00 am. Chocolate was a favorite drink during the 18th century and enjoyed daily by Martha Washington. Following breakfast at 11:00 am, Herkimer Home staff will demonstrate the preparation of the chocolate drink with an outdoor cooking demonstration of corncakes.

John Koopman III is General Washington.  He has portrayed the Commander-in-Chief in numerous television documentaries and historical venues throughout the country for the past decade.  Not only looking like “His Excellency”, he radiates that intangible quality of presence that everyone who met Washington marveled at.  Mr. Koopman will also be signing his novel George Washington at War- 1776, following the breakfast.

Advance ticket purchase is required by August 1. Purchase your ticket at That Little Place on Main or Herkimer Home State Historic Site. Limited seating is available.
