Recognized as one of the state’s most enjoyable historic sites, the Herkimer Home sits on the banks of the historic Mohawk River just east of Little Falls. Come and marvel at the grandness of the Georgian style mansion that once stood on the colonial frontier. The landscape, including the Herkimer Family burying ground, remains picturesque and remarkably unspoiled after two centuries of progress and change in the Mohawk Valley.
A small fee is charged for tours of the historic 18th century mansion. Tours occur on the hour every ( days to be announced) from one of the site’s knowledgeable staff. There is no fee for the visitor’s center, museum, gift shop and grounds. Picnic facilities, a boat dock, and the canal trailway are also available for the public use at no charge. All donations to the Friends of Herkimer Home are thankfully accepted.
