The Friends of Herkimer Home, a private non-profit educational
corporation, and the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic
Preservation was formed in 1986.
The purpose of the FRIENDS is to:
1. Support the improvement and development of Herkimer Home State Historic
Site, administered by the New York State Office of Parks and Recreation.
2. Conduct educational programs, services and activities in keeping with
the nature of the site and beyond the normal scope of site activities,
for its members and the public at large.
3. Assist in fund raising activities, the purchase of objects, equipment
and supplies for the benefit of the site.
4. Otherwise promote, conserve, develop and interpret Herkimer Home State
Historic Site for the benefit of the public and posterity.

As a Friend you are entitled to our quarterly news letter “The General’s
Gazette”, free admission to the Historic House, a $10 discount on the
registration for History Camp and 10% discount on purchases from the site
store. Without the support of our Friends group many of our events and
programs would not be possible! We are proud of our continuing members
for their commitment and support and we encourage new members to join
in and help support this wonderful historic site.
