Little Falls: A Living Legacy
A 12-minute video  produced by Herkimer County Community College 
for the Little Falls Canal Celebration Committee available for $10.

"LITTLE FALLS: A LIVING LEGACY"  has been submitted as part of a total package sent to the Library of Congress for the Local Legacies project; the centerpiece activity marking the Library of Congress 200th  birthday.

  Little Falls' Canal Celebration was selected by U.S. Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan as one of five "Local Legacies" in New York State to represent one of the nation's prime examples of American folk life. The presentation consists of still photographs, a narrative describing the history and development of Little Falls and how Canal Celebration glorifies that history and this 12-minute video.

  This presentation will be donated to the Library of Congress. It will then be digitized and made available over the internet through its American Memory /National Digital Library Program. A celebratory event to highlight the Local Legacies project will be held at the Library of Congress sometime in May, 2000.

   We are very proud of the past eleven years of Canal Celebration and look forward to Canal Celebration 2000! We are grateful to Herkimer County Community College for this video which captures the spirit of Canal Celebration for all the world to share.
